Eagles defeat SL volleyball

SARANAC LAKE — After winning its last four matches, the Saranac Lake volleyball suffered only its second loss of the season on Monday, falling 3-0 to the Beekmantown Eagles at home. The Eagles won by scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-17.

Sophia McBride and Lexie Donaldson paced the Saranac Lake defensively with a combined 27 digs. McBride had 14, while Donaldson had 13.

Sophie Czadzeck also had a standout night, recording a double-double with 11 assists and 11 points. She also added six aces, six digs, two kills and one block.

The Red Storm, which dropped to 6-2 overall, was slated to take on Lake Placid on the road on Tuesday. Following that, the Red Storm will face the Peru Nighthawks at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
