SARANAC LAKE — Emma Clark connected on goal with 28 seconds left in the third period Wednesday to give the Saranac Lake Placid girls hockey team a 3-3 draw against the Franklin Academy (Malone) Huskies.
Stephanie Kilbourne-Hill scored twice for SLP, while Clark, Marissa Reardon and Whitney Warner had assists. Kelsey McKillip recorded 26 saves for SLP, which is now 4-10-1-1 overall.
Cailyn Walfield scored twice for the Huskies, who had won its previous two contests heading into Wednesday’s game. Ava Boyea also scored for Malone as teammates Olivia LaFlesh and Kendsley Richards added assists. Goaltender, Reaghan Marlow, had 28 saves in the tie.
After a scoreless first period, SLP eventually got on the board first when Kilbourne-Hill netted a power-play goal half way through the second period. However, the Huskies responded 8 seconds later when Walfield found the back of the net.
Malone took the lead a couple minutes later when Boyea scored on a pass from LaFlesh with 8:56 left in the middle period.

Kilbourne-Hill evened the game 2-2 halfway through the third period when she buried a loose puck past Marlow.
Late in the third period, Walfield stole the puck from an SLP defenseman and skated the length of the ice before putting it past McKillip.
With an extra attacker in the final seconds of the third period, Clark collected a rebound, skated across the front of the goal and put a shot over Marlow’s glove to send the game to overtime. Neither squad found the back of the next in the extra period.
The SLP girls were slated to host the Massena Raiders on Thursday. Following that game, the team will take on the Salmon River Shamrocks at 5:30 p.m. Monday on the road.
