Section VII soccer playoff games announced

With the Section VII boys and girls soccer season having ended on Tuesday, the playoff schedule was recently announced.

In the girls Class D playoffs, the No. 3 Lake Placid girls soccer team will host No. 6 Willsboro at 10 a.m. on Saturday. If the Blue Bombers win that contest, they will compete against the winner of No. 2 Boquet Valley and No. 7 Keene at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 in the semifinal round.

The Section VII, Class D girls championship game will be held at Beekmantown High School at 1 p.m. on Nov. 2. Chazy is the top seed in the girls tournament.

The Saranac Lake girls, who compete in the Section VII, Class B, will take on the top-seeded Northeastern Clinton Cougars in the sectional semifinal game at 6 p.m on Tuesday, Oct. 29 in Champlain. The Red Storm are the fourth seed.

In the other semifinal contest, No. 2 Saranac Central will take on No. 3 AuSable Valley at the same time. The winners of the two contests compete in the sectional championship game at 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 1 at SUNY Plattsburgh.

In the boys Class B playoff, No. 3 Saranac Lake will travel to Picketts Corners for a matchup against No. 2 Saranac Central at 6 p.m. on Monday in the boys Section VII, Class B playoffs. The winner will compete in the Section VII, Class B championship game at SUNY Plattsburgh at 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 1.

Top-seeded Northeastern Clinton will take on No. 4. AuSable Valley at 6 p.m. on Monday in the other semifinal game.

In the Class D playoffs, the Lake Placid boys will play No. 2 Chazy, the reigning state champions, on the road at 2 p.m. Saturday. The winner of that contest will play either No. 3. Schroon Lake/Newcomb or No. 6 Seton Catholic at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

On the other side of the bracket, Keene will host the winner of No. 8 Indian Lake/Long Lake and No. 9 Wells at 10 a.m. on Saturday. If Keene wins, the team will take on either No. 4 Boquet Valley or No. 5 Johnsburg/Minerva at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The Section VII, Class D championship game will be held at Beekmantown High School at 11 a.m. on Nov. 2.
