SARANAC LAKE — After sweeping its last match, the Saranac Lake volleyball team fell 3-1 to the Saranac Central Spartans on Monday. Saranac Central won by scores of 25-17, 16-25, 25-20 and 25-16.

The Red Storm, which dropped to 9-5 overall, had a stand out performance from Alice LaDue, who nearly had a triple double. LaDue added 10 points, 10 digs, nine assists, two aces and two kills.

Saranac Lake’s Abby Isabella and Lexie Donaldson led the defensive effort with a combined 30 digs. Donaldson had 18, while Isabella had 12.

The Red Storm will end the season with back-to-back road matches against Northern Adirondack on Thursday and Lake Placid on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Both contests are set for a 6 p.m. start time.

AuSable Valley 3, Lake Placid 1

The Lake Placid volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to the AuSable Valley Patriots at home Monday. The Patriots won by scores of 25-13, 25-15, 11-25 and 25-22.

Norah Galvin once again led the Blue Bombers, recording a triple double with 13 assists, 13 digs, 11 points. She also added eight kills and two aces.

Lake Placid’s Kelsey McKillip had a solid outing with 12 points, four aces, three digs and two kills. Teammate Ireland Cassidy recorded eight points, three digs, three kills and one assist.

With the loss, the Blue Bombers fell to 3-10 overall. The team was slated to take on Plattsburgh Tuesday on the road, before hosting Northeastern Clinton at 6 p.m. Friday.
