Golfer records third ace of season at Whiteface Club
LAKE PLACID — Whiteface Club Golf Course member Randy Quayle recorded the fourth hole-in-one of his career and third of the Whiteface Club season on Aug. 5.
The left hander used a seven iron for the feat on the par three 154-yard eighth hole. Quayle’s ace was witnessed by playing partners Denis Chagnon, John Baker and Roger Neil. It was the second such achievement on that hole this year after a hole-in-one during the spring by Andrew Pate of Cornwall, Ontario.
Earlier this season, club member Caroline Roy collected a hole-in-one on the par three 11th hole.
The golf season rolls on at the Whiteface Club with a pair of tournaments in the coming weeks. A four-person scramble, benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association Northeastern New York chapter, is set for Aug. 21. This will be followed on Sept. 11 with another four-person scramble that will raise needed funds for the United States Ski Hall of Fame and Museum.
