Gracie Allen wins 1.40M jump-off at Lake Placid Horse Show

LAKE PLACID — Gracie Allen of Moorestown, New Jersey rode Enya EMS Van De Padenborre Z to a victory in the 1.40-meter Jump-off on Wednesday at the 55th annual Lake Placid Horse Show.

Competing in the Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field, Allen was one of four entries to go clean over the 13-jump first-round course. She then rode Enya EMS Van De Padenborre Z to the faster of the two clean rides over the seven-jump, jump-off course, finishing clean in 28.011 seconds to claim the win over Laura Chapot, who finished clean in 29.263 seconds on Chandon Blue.

In the 1.30M class, Sheridan topped a field of 31 entries by turning in the fastest of the 11 clean rides over the one-round course. She finished clean in 53.879 seconds on Vantina HPF. Chapot placed second again, finishing clean in 55.110 seconds on Kanjer P.

The Lake Placid Horse Show will continue until Sunday, and will be followed by the I Love New York Horse Show from July 2 to 7. The two weeks will feature more than $540,000 in prize money.

Each show day, action will start at 8 a.m., with classes running simultaneously in four spectacular show rings — the Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field, the jumper ring, the main hunter ring and the hunter ring.

The Lake Placid Horse Show is highlighted by the $75,000 Grand Prix of Lake Placid on Sunday. The I Love New York Horse Show will include the $75,000 Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix on Sunday, July 7. Each week also features a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby.
