Bagnato wins 1.40m Speed Challenge

LAKE PLACID — Mia Bagnato rode Florida N to the win in the 1.40m Speed Challenge, Thursday’s featured class at the Lake Placid Horse Show.

Thursday’s competition in the Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field featured Bagnato’s win in the 1.40m Speed Challenge. Bagnato was one of three entries to go clean over the one-round course designed by Michel Vaillancourt; she rode Florida N to the fastest time, finishing in 57.585 seconds to claim the win. Laura Chapot placed second with a time of 60.425 seconds on Ginola, with third going to Gracie Allen who rode Enya EMS Van De Padenborre Z to a time of 61.030.

In the 1.30m Speed Class, Schuyler Riley claimed the win on Garance De Vains. Second went to Sarah Johnstone on Laszla, with third going to Ariel Yazid on I’m Kane Z.

About the horse shows

Each show day, Lake Placid Horse Shows action starts at 8 a.m., with classes running simultaneously in four show rings — the Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field, the E.R. Mische Jumper Ring, the Main Hunter Ring and the Hunter Ring. The Lake Placid Horse Show is highlighted by the $75,000 Grand Prix of Lake Placid on Sunday, June 30. The I Love New York Horse Show follows on July 2-7, with highlights including the $75,000 Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix on Sunday, July 7. Each week also features a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby.

A USEF Heritage Competition, the LPHS shows feature USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider Northeast events, Green Hunter Incentive classes, hunter and jumper classics, and divisions for Young Jumpers and 0.85m Junior/Amateur Jumpers. Additionally, LPHS offers classes that are part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series and North American League.
