Lumberjacks softball advance to title game

Kendall Kenniston struck out nine and allowed nine hits to lead the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks softball team past the Brushton-Moria Panthers on their home diamond. Lillie Robideau allowed 11 hits and struckout three in the loss.

Offensively for Tupper Lake, Taylor Stoll was 2-5 with a home run, Kenniston was 3-5 with a triple, Rachel Sorensen was 2-5 with an RBI and Campbell Casagrain was 2-3 with two runs scored.

For Brushton-Moira, Kyla Phelan was 2-4 with a home run and four RBI, Summer Mayville was 2-4 with a stolen base, Addi Mitchell was 2-4 with two RBI while Lily Jones was 2-4 with a solo RBI.

The Lumberjacks are slated to take on St. Lawrence Central in the Section X, Class C Championship game on Tuesday at St. Lawrence University at 4 p.m.
