TUPPER LAKE — The Tupper Lake cross country team competed at home for the first and only time this season on Tuesday afternoon.
While neither the boys nor the girls squad had enough runners to score, the Lumberjacks had some solid results while racing at L.P. Quinn Elementary.
Raegan Fritts, the lone senior on Tupper Lake’s running team, had the top finish amongst Lumberjacks runners, placing third overall in the girls race in a time of 24 minutes, 43 seconds.
“Raegan has been running cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field with us since seventh grade,” Lumberjacks head coach Hannah Klossner said. “She is a huge asset to our program and I am excited to see how she is able to close (out) her last cross country season.”
The only two runners faster than Fritts were Potsdam’s Millie Dean (23:00) in first and Alison Kelson (24:33) in second. Fritts’ teammate Ava Facteau finished in sixth place at 26:58.
