TUPPER LAKE — The Tupper Lake soccer team suffered a 6-0 home loss to the Colton-Pierrepont Colts on Thursday evening.
Teagan Planty recorded two goals for the Colts, while Kaitlyn Houston, Hailey Delaney, Ashleigh Woods and Logan LaShomb each netted one goal. Colton-Pierrepont improved to 5-1, and Tupper Lake fell to 1-5.
After playing against one of the top teams in Section X, Lumberjacks head coach Andrea LaMere said her team has more work to do to improve.
“Practice on skills never ends in soccer,” she said. “There’s always room for improvement.”
Tupper Lake seemed to hold its own in the first half allowing just two goals with Planty and Houston finding the back of the net. The Lumberjacks nearly scored when Taylor Stoll rifled a shot that was caught by Colton-Pierrepont’s goalie.

In the second half, the Colts controlled possession for most of the contest, recording four unanswered goals while limiting Tupper Lake’s scoring opportunities.
LaMere said some of her players have injuries and illnesses right now, so they had to change things up for Thursday’s contest.
“We had some players, playing in positions that they are not used to playing,” she said. “So they stepped up and did well.”
The Lumberjacks will next take on the Madrid-Waddington Hornets on the road at 4:30 p.m. Monday. The Hornets are currently 2-4 on the year.
