Red Storm golfers fall in season opener
SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake golf team kicked off the season with a loss, falling to the Beekmantown Eagles 6-0 on Friday at the Barracks Golf Course in Plattsburgh.
Playing in the top two positions for the Red Storm, Evan Hochwald and Noah Jewtraw fell by identical 44-46 scores. Hochwald, playing in the number one spot, lost to Keegan Seamone; Jewtraw lost to Owen Beebe.
Saranac Lake’s Ryan McGinnis-Theis, playing in the sixth position, had the closest match of the day. McGinnis-Theis lost to Caleb Peryer 57-58.
Carson St. Louis, Cooper Patnode and David Rascoe suffered setbacks, playing in the third, fourth and fifth spots. St. Louis was defeated 50-58 by Cooper Burdo, Patnode fell to Seth Bebee 52-57 and Rascoe lost to Reese Seamone 55-61.
The Red Storm will return home for back-to-back home matches starting today against Northeastern Clinton and on Tuesday against Plattsburgh. The matches will be played at the Ray Brook Golf Course at 3:30 p.m.
