LP tennis teams split with Bobcats

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid boys tennis team notched its third straight win on Friday over the Northern Adirondack Bobcats at home.

The boys won 4-1 on their home court over the Bobcats, while the Blue Bomber girls lost by the same score. The girls fell to 0-3 overall with the loss.

In the boys match, both Lake Placid doubles teams won tough battles. Two out of the three singles players picked up wins.

The top Blue Bomber doubles team of Harrison and Nash Carlisto defeated Tristan Lagree and Parker Manor 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, while the second doubles team of Owen Keal and Erik Kampherschroer defeated the Bobcats’ Tristin Craig and Kaleb Guay 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Lake Placid’s Henry Becker beat the Bobcats’ Seth King in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 in singles play, while Soren Jacobson beat Northern Adirondack’s Izek Guay in straight sets 6-2, 6-0. In the third singles game, Lake Placid’s Parker Scanio lost to Harold Carter, of Northern Adirondack, 3-6, 2-6.

On the girls side, Lake Placid’s Julia Crawford, playing in the number one singles spot, earned the lone victory for the Blue Bombers, beating Reese Lafave in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

Grace Ericson of Lake Placid lost in the number two single spot by a score of 2-6, 1-6. Lake Placid had to forfeit the number three singles position.

In the doubles, Lake Placid’s Sydney Garrison and Grace Carlson lost to the Bobcats’ Hailee James and Emily Griffin 2-6, 2-6 and in the number two double event, the Blue Bombers’ Emma Pickard and Fern Beattie lost to Keena Magoon and Makenzie Begor in straight sets 0-6, 0-6.

The two teams will return to the courts today on the road against Seton Catholic. Both matches will start 3:30 p.m.
