CHAMPLAIN — Saranac Lake’s Brady Roberts had a game to remember on Saturday.

Roberts went the distance against the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, earning his first career no-hitter while leading his Red Storm baseball team to an 11-0 victory on the road.

He finished the game with 14 strikeouts while walking two batters and hitting one. Saranac Lake improved to 4-3 overall with the win.

“Brady Roberts threw a great game,” NCCS coach Jeff Norton said. “Congratulations to him on his no-hitter.

“Their offense also hit the ball hard at times and took advantage of some of our defensive miscues,” Norton said.

Kaden Darrah, Brayden Munn and Noah Munn powered the Red Storm offensively with two hits each. Darrah drove in three runs, Noah Munn had two doubles and twin brothers Nick and Brayden Munn had a double each.

“Although we didn’t get the result we wanted, there were positives we can take from today,” Norton said. “We made some really nice defensive plays at times and had a few better at-bats as the game went on. We still need to do a better job of limiting mistakes defensively.”

The Red Storm are slated to take on the Northern Adirondack Bobcats on the road Wednesday. The game will start at 4:30 p.m.
