The Saranac Lake boys track and field team poses with their own Section VII championship sign after finding out they were the sectional champions on Thursday. Following the conclusion of the Section VII track meet this past Wednesday, it was previously announced that the Peru Nighthawks had won the sectional title. But due to a timing service error, it was discovered that field results were not counted, which gave Saranac Lake its third straight sectional title. Red Storm head coach Cy Ellsworth said it was a roller coaster for his athletes on Wednesday. When the team left Peru, he said he felt that they had performed much better than the fourth place that was showing on paper. Ellsworth added that he thought Peru and Beekmantown also performed well.
