Bobcats soccer teams top Timberwolves

PAUL SMITHS — The Paul Smith’s College men’s and women’s soccer teams opened up their season with home wins over the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves on Friday.
In the men’s game, Paul Smith’s scored three straight goals to mount a 3-2 comeback victory over SUNY Adirondack.
After the Timberwolves took a 2-0 lead, Treyantae Leak gave the Bobcats life when he scored their first goal on a penalty kick.
Shortly after, Nick Grover found the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2. Grover’s goal was assisted by Adam Holt. Paul Smith’s senior Marvis Nosa scored the game-winning goal on a pass from Ben Green.
SUNY Adirondack’s Garrett Hedge and Matt Brandes, of Lake Placid, scored one goal each on Friday, with John Buckley assisting on both goals.

The Paul Smith’s women’s team, which lost just one game last season, came into Friday’s game ready to play. The Bobcats dominated in every aspect and cruised to a 6-0 victory over SUNY Adirondack.
Six different Paul Smith’s players found the back of the net, with Samantha Severing, Katrien Roefs, Keeley VanValkenburgh, Hayleigh Gates, Ashley Carli and Danielle Lockwood scoring a goal each in the win.
Both Bobcats’ squads open up the season with a 1-0 record. Both teams will travel to Vermont for back-to-back games against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Saturday and Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Sunday.
