Blue Bombers top the Warriors

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid girls basketball team has been on a bit of a hot streak to start the new year and their great play continued on Friday.

Playing at home against the Willsboro Warriors, the Blue Bombers won their third straight game by a score of 45-40.

Lake Placid was led by Katie Coursen, who scored a game-high 16 points to lead her team to a victory. Coursen also netted her team’s only three-pointer of the game.

Arnita Cecunjanin and Julia Crawford also contributed in the Blue Bombers win. Cecunjanin scored 11 points, while Crawford had 10.

In a close match-up, Lake Placid took control of the game in the the second quarter. The team lead the Warriors by seven points before halftime and never looked back.

On the Warriors side, Isabella Harrison had a standout performance. Harrison led her team with 11 points.

With the win, the Blue Bombers move to 9-5 on the season. The team will look to stretch their win streak to four games on Friday. Lake Placid will travel to take on Seton Catholic at 6:30 p.m.
