The Tupper Lake football team had four seniors honored by Section X for their work on the gridiron this season.

The Lumberjacks finished the season with a 2-3 record, but the team is likely proud of the accomplishments and hard work of its four All-Northern award winners.

Beckett Savage, Nolan Savage and Grant Godin earned first-team All-Northern selections, while Hudson Baldwin earned second-team honors.

Beckett Savage was key in the backfield for the Lumberjacks. The team’s offense revolved around him. Beckett rushed for a triumphant 1,042 yards on 139 carries in just five games. He also accounted for eight rushing touchdowns, which earned him the first-team honors as a running back.

Godin, a three-sport athlete, was dominant on offense as well. Playing at tight-end, Godin hauled in six touchdowns on the short season. Along with his six touchdowns, he had 319 receiving yards on 19 receptions and two two-point conversion catches.

On the defensive side of the ball, Nolan Savage was a force. As a defensive tackle, Nolan’s name didn’t often appear in the stat sheets, but he made his presence known on the football field. He tallied five tackles and he had a fumble recovery on the season.

Baldwin, a linebacker, was also a defensive standout for the Lumberjacks. Baldwin led the team with 41 tackles. He also blocked a punt, recovered a fumble and had a sack in the team’s five-game season.
