Saranac Lake sweeps AuSable Valley
SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake varsity volleyball team was victorious once again. The team defeated the AuSable Valley Patriots 3-0 on the road Thursday.
The Red Storm swept the Patriots by scores of 25-21, 25-10 and 25-18.
Red Storm’s Azra Michael had a game high 19 assists. Michael has now had double-digit assist totals in five games this season.
Saranac Lake’s Alyssa Lapierre led all scoring with 15 points. Allison Hewitt and Tailor Whitson had eight points each. Hewitt also led the team with 5 digs.
Marley Small and Anica Null were dominant in front of the net for the Red Storm. Null and Small had eight kills each.
AuSable Valley’s Kelci Pelkey had a strong performance overall. Pelkey had nine digs and five points. Mallorie Douglas also played well for the Patriots. She had three points, six kills, five digs, one assist and one block.
With the win the Red Storm kept its undefeated season alive with its 11th win of the season. The team will host Lake Placid on Monday.
