Lake Placid will host Roller Ski race this weekeend

LAKE PLACID — The state Olympic Regional Development Authority is hosting the New England Nordic Ski Association and its Keys to the Castle Roller Ski Race at the brand-new roller ski loop at Mt. Van Hoevenberg on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

The race will include a combination of high-level junior athletes and elite athletes from throughout North America. The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation XC Gold Team, Bridger Ski Foundation Nordic Pro and PG teams and the SMS T2 Team to take part in this exciting event.

Also, in attendance will be Olympic gold medalist, World Cup Champion and FIS Tour de Ski Champion, Jessie Diggins, Katherine Ogden, Julia Kern, Johnny Hagenbuch, Ben Ogden and Karl Schulz.

“Mt. Van Hoevenberg is thrilled to welcome some of the top cross-country skiers in the United States to our revitalized Olympic Venue,” Mt. Van Hoevenberg Nordic Program Manager Kris Cheney-Seymour said in a statement. “This day of roller ski racing on our newly paved loops will likely include 2022 Olympic-bound athletes from the top clubs in the country.”
