Lake Placid track falls to Beekmantown

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid boys and girls track teams both fell to Beekmantown Tuesday.

The boys team lost by the score of 71-43 in a competive meet. The Lake Placid boys had one athlete win multiple events. Max Flannigan won the mile with the time of 4:58, and he was also on the winning 4×400 meter relay team.

On the girls side, Beekmantown took the meet with the score of 79-30. Lake Placid’s Annie Rose-McCandlish had a great night, placing first in three events: the 800 meter, 4×400 meter relay and 4×800 meter relay.

Lake Placid will be the host school of the Sectional VII Championships as the meet will be held at the horse show grounds Friday.

State championships have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, making sectionals the end of the season, except for those who qualified for nationals.
