High School Roundup: Lake Placid golf drops to 7-2
PLATTSBURGH — Lake Placid’s golf team lost for the second time in a row after going 7-0 to start the season.
After being handed their first loss on Friday by Moriah, the Lake Placid golfers fell to Saranac by the score of 3.5-2.5 at the Barracks Golf Course. Lake Placid scored on Jack Armstrong’s victory along with Chris Bryne’s victory. Grady Draper tied Keegan Brown, giving each team a half a point.
Saranac scored with victories by Dax Lashway over Alex Wright, Nathan Hamel over Tanner Foley, and Nick Hamel over Brady Tremblay. Saranac’s Nick Hamel was the top scorer on the night as he shot a 37, while also hitting a hole-in-one on hole seven.
The Lake Placid golf team finishes the regular season with the record of 7-2 in CVAC play. Sectionals are on Thursday and Friday at the Saranac Inn Golf Club.

Eagles bash Bombers in baseball

LAKE PLACID — The Beekmantown Eagles came to Lake Placid Monday and clobbered the Blue Bombers boys baseball team, 23-2.
The Eagles were already up 13-2 before getting 10 more runs in the sixth inning.
There were no home runs, but the Eagles got 21 hits (including six doubles) to Lake Placid’s nine (including a trible and a double). Seven Beekmantown players had multiple hits, compared to two from Lake Placid.
Also, the Bombers hurt themselves with eight errors to Beekmantown’s one.
