McCarthy sinks 37 points again in victory over Salmon River
FORT COVINGTON — The Saranac Lake boys basketball team continued its roll on Tuesday with a 66-50 road victory over Salmon River.
The Red Storm kept their unbeaten run going by improving to 5-0, and along with his team, junior Nate McCarthy continued to heat up the floor. For the second time in a week, McCarthy drained 37 points to lead the way, and senior point guard Brady Yando also stayed hot, finishing with 20 points.
Carter Hewitt and Landon Faubert combined to score nine points to account for the rest of Saranac Lake’s offense. Hewitt also hauled down 10 rebounds.
Logan Lebehn paced the Shamrocks with 19 points.
Saranac Lake also won Wednesday evening on the road in Lake Placid. The Red Storm triumphed by their largest margin of the season, winning 74-34 to move to 6-0 with one more game remaining, a home contest Friday against Salmon River.
