LAKE PLACID — USA Bobsled/Skeleton team selection races will begin on Saturday at Mount Van Hoevenberg, kicking off a three-race series to determine who is named to the 2020-21 national team.

Coaches and staff wanted to limit the number of variables involved in team selections by not disrupting the system currently in place, and the decision to host trials entirely in Lake Placid was announced last week. The 2020-21 national team is expected to be named following the conclusion of races on Nov. 20.

The schedule is as follows:

¯ Sunday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m. to noon, women’s and two-man bobsled race No. 2

¯ Monday, Nov. 16, noon to 2 p.m., skeleton race No. 1

¯ Thursday, Nov. 19, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., skeleton race No. 2

¯ Friday, Nov. 20, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., skeleton race No. 3; 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., women’s bobsled race No. 3 and four-man bobsled race No. 1
