Willsboro defense stops Lake Placid boys

LAKE PLACID — The Willsboro boys basketball team used a big third quarter to take control of what became a 43-27 victory over Lake Placid on Friday night.

Stephen Leibeck scored six of his game-high 16 points in the third quarter as the Warriors extended their lead to 37-20 going into the fourth.

Willsboro held Lake Placid under 10 points in every quarter except for the second, when the Blue Bombers scored 10.

Matt Brandes led the way offensively for Lake Placid with 13 points, including five in the second quarter and six in the fourth.

Jack Armstrong added four points for the Blue Bombers.
