SARANAC LAKE — Tied 2-all going into the fifth set, Saranac Lake came together to defeat AuSable Valley by seven points Monday in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball.

Saranac Lake won the match, 3-2.

The Red Storm’s Madie Gay completed a triple-triple with 12 points, 14 kills and 23 digs, and Meagan O’Brien (10 digs, 23 assists) and Katie Gay (24 points, 25 digs) earned double-doubles for Saranac Lake.

Sydney Andronica had 67 digs, and Kelsey Leeret registered nine kills and 25 digs for the Red Storm.

The Patriots’ Abby Sawyer (15 kills, 31 digs), Isabella Joy (16 assists, 27 digs) and Madison Campbell (10 assists, 17 digs) notched double-doubles.

Bella Perez recorded 33 digs, and Lexie Prins added eight points and 31 digs for AuSable Valley.

The Patriots’ Mallorie Douglas also filled many statistical categories with 19 digs, eight points, seven kills, two assists and an ace.

The Red Storm defeated AuSable Valley by at least seven points in each set and lost by narrow margins in the other two sets.

Saranac Lake will take on Northeastern Clinton in the semifinal round of the Section VII, Class C playoffs Wednesday night in Saranac Lake. The Red Storm are the No. 1 seed and NCCS is No. 4.
