Tupper volleyball wins again

TUPPER LAKE — The Tupper Lake volleyball team picked up its second win of the season Tuesday with a 3-1 victory over Gouverneur.

The Lumberjacks improved to 2-0 after downing the Wildcats by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-13. Tupper Lake opened the season Friday with a win over Madrid-Waddington.

Several players contributed to a balanced effort. Sierra LaValley racked up 21 points, eight aces, six kills, two blocks and one dig, while teammate Kamille Cuttaia had seven points, two kills, three blocks and one ace.

Cadence Tyo chipped in 55 sets and three kills, while Chelsea Locke had 40 sets, 13 points and one ace for Tupper Lake. London Tyo added five points, two aces and three kills and Elaina Daniels had six points and one ace.

The Lumberjacks hit the road for their next match, which is Monday, Sept. 16 in Chateaugay.
