SARANAC LAKE — The Connecticut Grey Rugby Club had quite a weekend at the 46th annual Can-Am Rugby Tournament.
The club fielded four teams in the tournament, and by the time the matches wrapped up late Sunday afternoon, three of those Grey sides were Can-Am champions and a fourth squad finished runner-up.
The Grey turned out to be a pretty dominant force in the old boys divisions, winning the over-55, over-50 and over-35 titles and finishing runner up in the over-45 competition. The Grey over-55 team topped Old Breed 12-5 in the championship match, edged Old Breed 20-19 for the over-50 title and got past the Brockport Doggies 25-15 to take the over-35 crown.
The Schenectady Reds were the lone team to upend Connecticut in a final, winning the title 17-10.
After squeaking out a 5-3 victory over the Mountaineers in a quarterfinal Saturday, the Misfits went on to win the women’s division, rolling past OAS 45-5 in Sunday’s final.

The East Side Hyenas won the men’s club division with a 43-5 victory over the Mountaineers, who competed in their own tournament’s most competitive level for the first time.
The Gamblers took the men’s social division title, beating the Albany Knicks 53-5 on Sunday.
The 47th annual Can-Am Rugby Tournament is slated to take place July 31 to Aug. 2, 2020.
