Time Trials series at halfway point

LAKE PLACID — The Placid Planet Time Trials series reached the midway point Wednesday as 17 riders braved the cold and rainy conditions on Riverside Drive in Lake Placid.

The series will continue for another three weeks, each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The series is free and open to the public. Prizes are presented to the man and woman who accumulate the most points for competing throughout the series.

The staggered start means that riders are competing only against the clock on the 8-mile round-trip course, which starts at the ski jump end of Riverside Drive.

For more information, call Placid Planet at 518-523-4128.
