Junior Nationals wrap up in Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID — The cross-country skiing Junior National Championships came to a close Saturday with the team relay events at the Olympic Jumping Complex.

Karl Schulz teamed up with Bryce Hartman and Evan Carr to take fourth place in the under-20 men’s division with a time of 22 minutes, 2.9 seconds. The New England team of Kamran Hussain, Koby Gordon and Daniel Streinz won the event in 21:53.1.

In the under-18 race, Scott Schulz, Henry McGrew and Nino Manzella combined to place fifth with a time of 22:07.2. The Alaskan team of Luke Jager, Canyon Tobin and Gus Schumacher won the race in 21:42.9.

Everett Sapp, Ethan Wood and Royal McDonnell placed 15th in the U-18 race with a time of 23:19.7. Lauchlan Cheney-Seymour teamed up with Brian Beyerbach and Daniel Manzella to take 18th in the same race.

Saturday’s races brought to a close the week-long national championship races.
