Kettle Campaign raises $12k
To the editor:
We just concluded the Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign in Saranac Lake. It’s no surprise that the people in the Saranac Lake community are generous, as well as committed to making it a better place to live.
Ninety percent of the money we collect stays here in the community. It helps people who are having difficulty due to unforeseen circumstances and might need help with heat, rent, clothing, food, etc.
We want to thank the over 70 volunteers (and one dog) who stood out in the cold with a smile on their face, some singing or dressed in a holiday costume to raise money for the needy. We are proud to say we exceeded last year’s donation of $11,000 to $12,000 for this year in 2025.
Your generosity will help so many needy people in the Saranac Lake area and we are grateful. A special thanks to the Post Office, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise and Kinney Drugs for allowing us to use your locations to meet our goal. Thank you to the businesses who also put a kettle on their counter: Hyde Mobil, Woods and Water, High Peaks Wine and Spirits, The Village Mercantile, Coakley’s Hardware and Go Fish Thrift Shop.
Also, a big thanks for making the campaign so successful over the years with hard work and dedication of Rich Loeber and Martha Watts.
Sincerely,
Catherine Moore
Salvation Army Kettle Coordinator
