To the editor:

It is my honor to write this letter in support of Amy L. McCormick for Town Clerk and all jobs associated with the office. Amy is a very well-educated young woman with a wide range of work experience and skills. Amy has a dual Bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration.

Like most teenagers, Amy started her working career as a babysitter. Amy also worked as a gas station attendant, table busser, retail store manager, office assistant, tax preparer/enrolled agent, and insurance agent, among other things. Most recently, Amy has been assisting with her husband’s landscaping company, managing his lawn maintenance crews and doing the bookkeeping, which includes payroll, deposits, sales tax, and payroll tax. She also handles most of the correspondence and billing for the business. Amy isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty; she also enjoyed working occasionally for the Saranac Lake Hot House as a garden center associate, providing customer service and helping with transplanting, planting, caring for, and promoting annuals and houseplants.

Amy also served two terms on the fundraising committee and as the treasurer for the Saranac Lake Placid Lakers hockey board. Amy also served as president of the St. Bernard’s School education council for two terms and helped raise an amazing amount of money via an online auction, cash calendars, a golf tournament, and other smaller events during the 2024-25 school year.

Amy is a reliable, innovative, and self-motivated individual.

Amy has deep roots in the town of Franklin; she is a descendant of two prominent families.

First was her Grandfather, Harold H. Montgomery, who owned and operated the Montgomery Country Store and Gas Station. Mr. Montgomery served several terms as town clerk and town supervisor.

Second was her Grandmother, Mary Ellen Keith, who served as town supervisor for several terms and founded the St. Paul’s Food Pantry.

Amy’s family roots in the town of Franklin go back to the founders of the town. Please show your support for Amy L McCormick.
