To the editor:

I am writing to support Doug Haney for the Harrietstown Town Council. Doug is committed to fighting for every opportunity to expand affordable and attainable housing. He is focused on doing this so that school enrollment will stay up while increasing the tax base, which will also help spread the tax burden. Doug is passionate about affordable housing and he wants to find meaningful housing solutions for year-round residents. Increasing housing will help provide a bigger employee pool for area businesses, and it will also bring new people to the community to potentially start new businesses. He feels very strongly about making sure that this community will be an attainable place for a middle-class family to live.

Doug has started vibrant businesses in Saranac Lake, such as Bike ADK, which brings local residents and visitors together for charity-driven bike events, along with promoting biking in our area. Doug has helped create community connections through healthy and fun activities. I hope that voters will support him as he looks to use his organizational and inspirational talents, which have made BikeADK so successful, to help the Harrietstown Council bring together people to focus on finding affordable housing solutions for our area.
