Saranac Lake No Kings Rally 2.0

Nearly 1,000 people gathered in Saranac Lake on Oct. 18 for a “No Kings Day” protest. The line of people holding signs stretched from Canaras Avenue to the state boat launch on Lake Flower. “We gathered because we love our country and believe in democracy,” organizer Barb Curtis said. “We peacefully protested the current administration and its policies. It was a joyful gathering to remind everyone that we don’t need to live in fear and that we the people hold the power.” (Provided photo — Mark Kurtz)

To the editor:

The “No Kings 2.0 team” would like to give a big thank-you shout-out to all the community members who came together for the Rally on Oct 18. When we started planning, we thought we’d have around 300 people. You amazed us. We had nearly 1,000 patriotic Americans come out for democracy. It was a peaceful, joyful event. We’d like to say an extra special thank you to our incredible team of volunteers.

Thanks again, everyone.
