To the editor:

You know how you recommend people for certain things? Sometimes with gusto? Such as: “Call GoGoGadget to get your cat out of the tree!” “Pat is just who you want to get that impossible boulder out of that impossible space!” Well, that’s Johnny Williams for Harrietstown Town Council.

I’ve known Johnny for many years now, so it’s easy for me to support what he’s doing because he’s been doing a fantastic job at it already. I’m clearly biased because I’ve already watched him work diligently, attend meeting after meeting and respond to the many different ways people let their opinions be known, with a calm, unbiased resolve. Dozens of my former students work at his restaurant, thrilled to be part of the exciting energy that happens down there — if you haven’t been, please change that when it fits your schedule. He’ll probably be there, keeping the band in tune and making sure everything is smooth and convivial.

Each October, he kindly asks me to donate what my tree business can for the Turkey Trot Food Drive (which I gladly do). He’s an awesome person in action as much, if not more, than he is in personality. Personality only goes so far. Johnny Williams will help rake the leaves, shovel the snow and clear the runway. He will do whatever it takes to get the problems solved in a way that gratifies everyone. It was easy to vote for him in 2021, and it will be just as easy this time.
