In Friday’s Enterprise, Key Features Syndicate’s Rich Lowry article titled “The left will never recover from Donald Trump,” the writer focuses on changing culture. However, the more important changes North Country citizens face at Trump’s hands and may “never recover from …” is illness and disease that go untreated, as they lose health coverage provided by Medicaid and the rest of us facing hospital and health facility closings resulting from revenue loss and experience hunger due to loss of SNAP, Those of us employed at the airport or businesses supported by air travelers, face further losses as jobs lost by airport closings due to grant slashes. Finally, there are the thousands of humans who will “never recover from ” his pal Musk’s elimination of USAID, which provided food assistance and medical relief to people around the globe. Think about it. The world’s richest man, a multibillionaire, with his chainsaw, is denying life-saving food assistance and medicine to millions of the poorest men, women and children of the world who will “never recover” as a result. Hey, Congresswoman Stefanik, what are you doing about this?
