To the editor:

We moved to this amazing community when our oldest son — and at the time, only son — Alex was just eight months old. Today, he is 18 and about to graduate from Saranac Lake High School. We could not be prouder of the young man he has become and all the hard work he’s put in along the way.

While we owe a debt of gratitude to many people in this community who have helped raise him, I want to take a moment to say thank you to the Saranac Lake Central School District family for creating an environment where he could learn, grow and prepare for adulthood.

To the school board, administration, teachers, staff, coaches and volunteers: thank you. In your own ways, each of you has made a difference — to him and to so many other students. I hope you know how deeply appreciated you are for all that you do.
