To the editor:

I’m writing to request that you and your readers throw their support behind state Assembly Bill A06052.

This bill would provide free lifetime sporting licenses for all New York State’s honorably discharged or disabled veterans. A lifetime hunting and fishing license is a small price to pay and a fitting reward for the brave men and women who have risked their lives to defend our freedom.

This legislation will authorize the Department of Environmental Conservation to offer these lifetime licenses to veterans free of charge. These brave men and women risked their lives in service to our nation and sacrificed their well-being for the sake of others.

The state Senate’s version of this bill S.1919 has just passed unanimously. Thank you all for supporting our veterans.
