We need a representative who understands
To the editor:
In recent weeks we have witnessed attacks on our democracy. The quickest way to preserve our way of life is to elect Democrats in the special elections.
On Sunday, I was one of nearly 100 people who attended an event with Blake Gendebien, Democratic candidate for New York’s 21st Congressional District. The race will take place in July, after our never-present, current Representative Elise Stefanik resigns. Bye Felicia!
I care deeply about our democracy, social security, healthcare and the future of our children and grandchildren. Whatever it is that you care about, Blake cares too.
Blake is a farmer from NY-21. His family has run a dairy farm for two generations. Ask him about climate, he understands!
He and his wife Carmen are small business owners and parents to three sons. He understands the struggle of hiring, facing losses and government neglect. He appreciates hard work.
He understands the needs of the retired members of our community. He realizes just what is at stake if we lose Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. The impact on our rural hospitals and senior living centers will be catastrophic.
As a former school board member, he recognizes the needs of teachers, parents and most importantly our student population. He sees the schools as hubs of community activity.
Blake is genuine. He knows how to lead and create consensus and, most importantly, he cares about everyday people.
I hope you will join me In July and vote for Blake Gendebien as our next representative in Washington.
