WWII, Korea war vets wanted for Honor Flight
To the editor:
Many are aware of the Honor Flight, a non-profit organization created to recognize America’s veterans for their sacrifices. They fly World War II, Korea Era, Vietnam and other veterans to their respective Washington, D.C. memorials at no cost.
Sixteen-point-one million served during WWII with 6.8 million having served during the Korean conflict. Recognizing the advanced ages of these heroes, and with less than 1 million remaining from WWII and Korea service, Honor Flight is fighting an increasingly difficult battle against time in finding and honoring our veterans before they are no longer with us.
Regional chapter North Country Honor Flight, based in Plattsburgh, seeks everyone’s assistance in helping us find as many of these Heroes as possible so their service may be honored with a Washington, D.C. flight. Should anyone know of one of these veterans who’ve not yet flown with North Country Honor Flight, they ask to contact their Executive Director Barrie Finnegan at 518-569-7429 or barrief22@gmail.com as soon as possible.
