Learn to Skate open house is on Sunday at SL Civic Center
To the editor:
This Sunday, Sept. 22, the Saranac Lake Learn to Skate program will be holding their registration and open house from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. at the Saranac Lake Civic Center, 213 Ampersand Ave.
We are very fortunate to have the Saranac Lake Learn to Skate program as a community resource for our youth and those adults who wish to learn how to skate. Through the hard work of Amanda Jones, Andrea Dukett and Brooke Martineau, the program is back.
Learning to skate can increase self-confidence, improve socialization skills by interacting with peers and coaches, and develop the discipline that is necessary to learn and execute a specific move. These life skills learned on the ice carry over nicely into the “off-ice world.”
The Saranac Lake Learn to Skate program offers lessons for little ones (6 and younger), basic and advanced skills, as well a curriculum designed for both beginning and experienced adult skaters.
Please join us Sunday to learn about the different programs available, skate with the coaches and register for a season full of personal growth, fun, and memories. Thank you.
