I am writing to express my belief that Congresswoman Stefanik is the best champion for Fort Drum and our North Country veterans. She has secured over $4 million in VA benefits for North Country veterans and her office is known for its timeliness and compassion in assisting veterans navigate VA benefits, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.

Congresswoman Stefanik has been instrumental in reforming the Veterans Affairs, advocating for legislation like the Wingman Act to reduce bureaucratic red tape and the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act to safeguard veterans’ rights. Her efforts include expanding mental health services, enhancing suicide prevention resources, and increasing compensation for disabled veterans through bills like the Protecting Veterans Health Act and the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act.

Appreciating the unique challenges our Fort Drum families face, Congresswoman Stefanik has championed legislation such as the Military Residency Choice Act and the Military Family Stability Act to provide flexibility and support during transitions. She has also supported initiatives like the Jobs and Childcare for Military Families Act to improve employment and childcare options for veterans and military spouses.

Through her legislative advocacy and direct engagement with constituents, Congresswoman Stefanik continues to prioritize the needs of North Country veterans and military families, ensuring their voices are heard and their sacrifices honored in Washington.
