To the editor:

The students and faculty members of the spring SOC 459: Comparative Policy Analysis class at Paul Smith’s College would like to thank our friends and neighbors for supporting our recent study abroad trip to Copenhagen, Denmark. We would especially like to thank Coakley Home and Hardware for supporting our Danish hot dog fundraiser event.

Thanks to your donations, students were able to study everything from clean energy policy and sustainable bike infrastructure to paid family leave and universal, debt-free education.

Some highlights of the trip included a behind-the-scenes tour of Copenhill, one of the cleanest combined heat and power waste-to-energy plants in the world, and spending time with Danish locals at Bicycle Brewing in Copenhagen, where we even ran into some Lake Placid friends!

Your donations also allowed the students to do laundry in the hostel, which the chaperones on the trip greatly appreciated!
