To the editor:

As long as it’s debate season, let me make a suggestion.

Joe Biden should debate Dr. Jill Stein. There won’t be any rude interruptions from either candidate. And what will be the theme of the night? Mr. Biden’s record on the environment. He has a lot to be proud of.

Dr. Stein can point to Vermont as an example of the Green New Deal. Small, privately-owned businesses that will provide a full employment economy, they will be safe and have the overall theme of “every child matters.”

Joe could also bemoan the “weaponizing of religion.”

And they can issue a joint statement and take the Hippocratic oath together to “do no harm.” Doing no harm in Gaza, at the southern border, in Ukraine, to the victims of Hamas, wherever they are, and above all else, give the whole human race a chance by living simply, so that others may simply live.
