To the editor:

Nearly three years ago, I made the decision to make Saranac Lake my home. As a remote medical professional, I am grateful to have had the flexibility to choose such a welcoming and beautiful home early on in my adult years.

Upon arrival, the village of Saranac Lake instantly unveiled its abundant community spirit to me, as well as its heart and unwavering commitment to its future. It appears that this could not have been made possible without the foundation of dedicated and genuine support from its residents and leadership over the years prior.

Leading up to my arrival in 2021, the 2010s were a pivotal time for community leadership with the Downtown Revitalization Grant awarded by New York state in 2018 along with other successes. Paul Van Cott was part of this leadership team. I have such confidence in Paul’s ability to constructively work in a team with a clear goal to serve the residents of Saranac Lake.

This is why I endorse Paul Van Cott for village board trustee. I encourage you to vote for Paul on March 19; our village’s future demands cohesive and experienced leadership and I believe he is the right candidate to bring us to those heights with his devoted support.
