To the editor:

The Glenview Preserve view should not be reserved for property owners alone. I urge nearby homeowners to consider a world in which they were not lucky or privileged enough to purchase that particular piece of land — an almost impossible feat for so many in this area. I invite everyone to consider the moment in time when you yourself will require the assistance of a walker or wheelchair. Due to age or injury, it’s likely inevitable. You’ll still want to go somewhere to enjoy nature, right? To have that space designed and preserved by the Adirondack Land Trust — experts who will maintain the ecological integrity of the land — seems like exactly the right move to me.
