Golf tourney honoring Todd A. Claremont was a success

To the editor:

On Sep. 16, 2022, the family, friends and coworkers of Todd A. Claremont held a golf tournament to raise money for a memorial scholarship in Todd’s name. We are hoping to make this tournament an annual event so that we may continue to honor Todd through his memorial scholarship fund. This year’s golf tournament was held at the Craig Wood Golf Course in Lake Placid. In June 2023, two graduating seniors from Saranac Lake High School will be the recipients of the first scholarships.

We would like to express our thanks to everyone who made it happen: Donors, golfers, sponsors, firefighters, law enforcement members and volunteers. Thanks to Jeff Estes and the staff at Craig Wood, and to Scott Bell and his kitchen staff. We would like to give a special thanks to Rick Ellis for sponsoring four Hole-In-One challenges for the tournament.

Todd was very active in the community, as a firefighter and volunteer. The golf tournament was a testament to Todd’s volunteerism. Once again, the Tri-Lakes’ businesses and citizens gave amazing support to help make the tournament a huge success.
