To the editor:

The Hotel Saranac will kick off the start of the Hanmer race week. From June 28-30, the hotel ballroom will showcase vintage and contemporary guideboats, a film medley of past races, a silent film of Willard Hanmer building a boat, a slide presentation from Historic Saranac Lake and the perpetual trophies of the famed Hanmer races will be on display. Open daily from noon to 9 p.m.

July will open up with a bang. The return of the Hanmer race on July 3, the kiddie parade on July 4, beginning at 10 a.m., and a fireworks display over Lake Flower on the Fourth of July at 9 p.m.

If you have not yet signed up for the 60th anniversary of the Hanmer race, you can call us for an entry, go to the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce or Woods and Waters or do so online at saranaclake.com. As a community, lets make this race a success once again.
