Thank you for supporting Play ADK

To the editor:

Last Saturday night, a very enthusiastic crowd gathered at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts to listen to the Jamcrackers perform a benefit concert for Play ADK, their first indoor performance since COVID-19 began. Play ADK, who is planning on building a children’s museum and family resource center in the warehouse we have purchased on Depot Street in Saranac Lake, has many people to thank for this great fundraising event.

The Jamcrackers (Peggy Lynn, Dan Duggan and Dan Berggren) generously donated their time and talent to draw a group of their fans. North Country Public Radio was the media sponsor and not only advertised the event but broadcast an interview that Todd Moe did with Peggy Lynn to talk about her support of the project as well as the band. LPCA, and Jon Donk in particular, gave invaluable help to the planners, some of whom were a bit inexperienced in this type of event.

We also want to thank all who attended the concert on a busy Mother’s Day weekend when there were so many other worthwhile events happening. We especially want to thank our sponsors of the show: the Campbell Group, a platinum ameriprise financial practice; Haselton Lumber; Hyde Fuel; Nancy Newbold; Ollie and Dana Burgess; Paulo Magro; Robert E. White, Esq.; Matt Theiss, Financial Advisor-Edward Jones, LS Marina; Tissot Construction; and Jen and Chris Tissot, who offered a matching campaign for these funds. In addition to the concert, we also raffled off a beautiful cedar-strip canoe generously donated by Fran Yardley and beautifully restored by Chris Woodward. Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket and congratulations to the winner, Daniel Tryon.

We hope that all Enterprise readers will be on the look-out for future opportunities to support this wonderful project that will benefit so many local and visiting families!
