Dangerous lies

To the editor:

Rep. Elise Stefanik, calling Democrats “the usual pedo grifters,” claimed that the Biden administration was sending baby formula to migrants at the southern border and cited that as the reason for why there is a shortage of formula. This is not only a lie but dangerous talk.

Dividing the American people is dangerous. It’s one thing to disagree on policies, but in the end, we are all Americans. As we can see from the world, things can change on a dime. Donald Trump started the nasty name calling, trashing people who disagreed with him. We have senators and Congresspeople signing onto the “Big Lie” … no votes were stolen. But they are working hard to steal them in the future elections. We teach our children to be honest. What are they learning from these dishonest people who lust for power?

As for the pedo stuff, we can see what the mid-term elections are going to be full of. It started with the Congressional hearings to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson. Rep. Matt Gaetz, of all people, insisting she was soft on pedophiles … Sen. Josh Hawley ran with it.

Constantly smearing the president, calling people names, shows how bereft the Republicans are of ideas. What is their solution to anything?

As for Stefanik, her naked ambitions are in full view. There are reports she wants to be speaker. I’m so disgusted with her lies, and bragging about being “Ultra MAGA” — what does that even mean? She’s raking in a lot of money with this nonsense. I liked her in the beginning, but now I’m done with her. I pray all the time she loses the next election.

I’m reminded of a bible quote: “What good is it to gain the whole world but to lose your soul?”

Indeed.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Zahn
