Why Harris deserves a council seat

To the editor:

Adam Harris is running for Harrietstown Town Council as a member of the “Working For Harrietstown” team. He intends to focus on continuing in his efforts as a public servant and not simply be a politician. Among the areas he is eager to take on as your councilman are:

¯ Workforce housing

¯ Maximizing / pivoting the Lake Clear Business Park

¯ Rail-trail integration

¯ Salt reduction

¯ Business growth and developing new business opportunities in the community

¯ Working to hold the line on taxes.

Adam moved to this area to attend Paul Smith’s Culinary Arts program, transferring from Hofstra University in 2003. As a public servant and a strong team player, Adam has demonstrated major contributions to many community organizations and initiatives.

¯ Currently serving on the Saranac Lake Development Board

¯ Served as co-chair of the Saranac Lake Downtown Advisory Board (DAB); chaired the DAB’s Committee on Economic Development; Saranac Lake “Decidedly Different” branding committee; local planning committee for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative Grant; Community Enhancement Fund member that produced the “Bug Crawl”

¯ A downtown business owner for over 15 years; opened two restaurants in Saranac Lake, Borracho Taco and The Scullery. Owner of Grizle T’s since 2007.

¯ Owner of ADK Real Property, LLC, which is currently renovating the famous and historic Coulter Block in downtown Saranac Lake

¯ A strong supporter of the Saranac Lake Chamber of Commerce, co-organizing many events with them

¯ A strong supporter of the Tri-Lakes Humane Society

¯ A member of: the Freemasons, the Moose Club and the Vets Club.

As you can see, Adam Harris is a committed team player to the various key enterprises in our community. With his business savvy and energetic drive for such a commitment to the community he deserves your consideration to vote for Adam Harris for Harrietstown Town Council, Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021.
